My name is Ian and I’m an Open Water Scuba Instructor, Technical Diver, Underwater Photographer and aspiring Marine Biologist at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Growing up in Nashville, Tennessee, I didn’t have much exposure to the ocean until my school offered a trip focused on marine biology. I went all four years, eventually getting SCUBA certified in early 2020. As soon as I took my first underwater breath, I knew I was going to be doing this for the rest of my life. After I graduated, I took a gap year and trained as much as possible, eventually ending up as an instructor and technical diver. I’ve now found my way to the middle of the Pacific pursuing my passion in conservation, instructing, and photography. With each student I hope to instill the same passion and excitement I felt when I learned to dive.

Favorite Dive Site & Why
My favorite dive site is Palancar Bricks in Cozumel, Mexico. The massive monoliths of coral surrounding you as you float above the continental shelf is surreal.
