Why get a freediving Certification?
There are 3 primary focuses for the 2 day PADI Level 1 Freediving Course:
1)Apnea – AKA breath hold. You will practice your Static Apnea (AKA breath hold without moving) in the pool day 1 and your Dynamic Apnea (AKA breath hold while moving) in the ocean day 2.
2)Learn how to prevent LMC (AKA disorientation on the surface) & Shallow Water Blackout – the 2 most common injuries for freedivers.
3) How to rescue/respond to someone who has experienced LMC & Shallow Water Blackout.
Overall, the course will give you the skill set you need to take your freediving to the next level safely – whether that next level is 10 meters or 30 meters – as well as how to be a good freediving buddy.
