FREEDIVING CERTIFICATION COURES

Aaron’s Dive Shop is a PADI FREEDIVING CENTER – PADI Freediver Centers are professional businesses that cater to the freediving market by engaging in freediving equipment sales and instruction. PADI Freediver Centers teach PADI Freediver program courses, including the PADI Freediver, PADI Advanced Freediver and PADI Master Freediver courses.

FREEDIVING LEVEL 1: BEGINNER LEVEL

Your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves. No previous freediving course is required.

Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.

Why get a freediving Certification?

There are 3 primary focuses for the 2 day PADI Level 1 Freediving Course:

1)Apnea – AKA breath hold. You will practice your Static Apnea (AKA breath hold without moving) in the pool and your Dynamic Apnea (AKA breath hold while moving) in the ocean.

2)Learn how to prevent LMC (AKA disorientation on the surface) & Shallow Water Blackout – the 2 most common injuries for freedivers.

3) How to rescue/respond to someone who has experienced LMC & Shallow Water Blackout.
Overall, the course will give you the skill set you need to take your freediving to the next level safely – whether that next level is 10 meters or 30 meters – as well as how to be a good freediving buddy

FREEDIVING LEVEL 2: ADVANCED FREEDIVER

Designed to refine and improve your freediving skills, allowing you to progress slowly while learning how your body performs during apnea (suspension of breathing).

Achieving a new freediving time or reaching a new depth is an incredible feeling. It satisfies that very personal desire to do your best and be proud of what you can accomplish. The PADI Advanced Freediver course is designed to fulfill that personal need to refine and improve your freediving skills, allowing you to progress slowly while learning how your body performs during apnea.

The PADI Advanced Freediver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge development about advanced freediving techniques and equipment. You’ll study independently using the PADI Freediver eLearning (or your instructor may conduct class sessions if not available in your language).
  • Confined water session to learn stretching and relaxation techniques as well as refine static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 2 minutes, 30 seconds (2 minutes for freedivers younger than 18) and dynamic apnea of 50 metres/165 feet (40 metres/130 feet for freedivers younger than 18)
  • Open water sessions to practice deeper free immersion and constant weight freedives, along with additional buddy procedures and rescue techniques. Goal – constant weight freedive of 20 meters/65 feet (15 metres/50 feet for freedivers younger than 18)
