Aaron’s Dive Shop offers Open Water Scuba Diving Courses around YOUR schedule! With the eLearning (online learning), small class sizes and hands-on instruction; you will be scuba diving in no time!
This is the first level of scuba diving where you learn your basic scuba diving skills. It consists of three parts, academic learning (knowledge development), pool training (confined water), and open water certification dives.
1. Academic Learning
The academic portion can be completed in-person or on-line. It is broken into five sections and will teach you about the fundamentals you need to understand to be able safely make dives using scuba. Scuba is an acronym that stands for self-contained underwater breathing apparatus.
2. Pool Training
The pool sessions are also broken into five sections (completed in one day). They will build on the knowledge you learned in the classroom and give you a chance to practice all the skills you will need to master.
3. Open Water Dives
The open water dives are what everyone is waiting for! Here is your time to get out for a dive and demonstrate that you have learned the skills needed to safely dive.

Our boat, the Na Makana, is based out of Hawaii Kai and is a USCG certified vessel that accommodates 14 divers. We split up the divers into groups based on experience level so that once in the water you are in a small group once again.
